RULES OF THE LIBRARY:
A. General rules:
v At the time of entering the library all personal
belongings shall be kept at the Property Desk at the entrance to the library.
v Every person who enters the library shall sign the
entrance register.
v The readers shall keep silence within the library premises
and shall behave in a civilized manner.
v Conversation, talking, sleeping, smoking and loitering is
not allowed in the library.
v Use of Mobile Phone is not allowed within the
library premises.
v Undesirable or unauthorized persons shall have no access
to the library.
v While in the library, all persons shall obey the rules
and procedures of the library
v No reader shall bring any non-member into the Library,
nor shall lend, even temporarily, library books borrowed by him to others.
v Every member of the library shall be responsible for the
safe custody of any library book borrowed by him for study in the Library
Reading Room or for use at home.
B.
Borrowers privileges and obligations:
v Each prospective member shall give in writings an undertaking
to abide by the rules of the library. He shall fill up a membership form.
v Each member shall be providing with a membership identity
card.
v Library cards are not transferable.
v Each member shall present his membership card before any
book is issued to him.
v Check the documents when issued.
v In case of loss of library card/ pass book, the borrower
must report immediately to this effect to the librarian.
v In case of loss a library card, a duplicate one may be
issued, at the discretion of the librarian, for which a fee of Rs. 5 per card
will have to be paid.
v Reference books, Rare books, unbounded periodicals may
not be issued, generally except permission of the librarian.
v In case any book is lost or damaged by the member, the
member shall replace the book.
v The books may be renewed if the same are not demand or
are not reserved by other reader. The renewed will be done generally on the
physically presentation of the book.
v The librarian shall the power to refuse the issue of a
book to any member or may recall any book without assigning any reason
therefore.
v Reader and borrowers must register their permanent
address and phone no. to the librarian and always notify the office, of any
change, in writing.
v Membership of the library and its facilities will be
cease after the form fill up.
v No dues Certificate will be issued by the Librarian when
a reader ceases to be a member and return all books.
v All library books lost by the borrowers are replaced by
them by new copies. If copies are not available in the market, a well bound
Xerox copy is to be given to the library failing which the current price of the
books not returned or double the original price whichever is higher is to be
paid by the borrower concerned.
